In 1995,Unity started offering basic law courses in the evenings leading to the awarding of a certificate. The evening certificate in law program was widely accepted and soon grew to an evening diploma program in law. The evening diploma program in law program then gave birth to a regular diploma program in law, which is currently being phased out and being replenished by the law program in the TVET program. In July, 2002, Unity has managed to grow to a university, which, among others, became a reason to introduce a degree program in law. The studies leading to the Bachelor of law degree are offered in the regular day and extension (evening) programs.
