Objectives of the Department


General Objectives

The main objective of the department is to produce competent B.Sc. Degree graduates in MIS program. A successful MIS graduate may join the business and industry with any of the following Job Titles:

  1. Information Systems Analyst
  2. Computer Programmer (Applications Developer)
  3. Database Administrator
  4. Software Engineer
  5. Network Administrator
  6. Information Resource Manager
  7. Information Systems Consultant
  8. Web-Master, etc.
Specific Objectives

The specific objectives of the MIS program are to:

  1. Develop business oriented systems professionals who have experience in improving organizational processes while participating in problem solving teams in project-oriented environments;
  2. Challenge students to identify organizational opportunities that can be enhanced by information technology;
  3. Prepare students with the communication skills needed to act as liaison officers between technical and non-technical members of system development teams;
  4. Prepare students to design various aspects of information systems, including database, telecommunication and interface components;
  5. Prepare students to lead and manage teams responsible for developing and supporting information systems.
