MIS graduates are expected to:

  1. Demonstrate a working knowledge of current trends in information and communication technologies and their applications to a variety of business, industry and service environments.
  2. Assist in solving business problems related to hardware, software, and communication and network technologies by applying techniques associated with:
    • Network configuration and diagnostics,
    • Database management systems,
    • Systems Analysis and feasibility studies,
    • System Design and development strategies,
    • System Implementation, conversion, Testing,
    • System Security maintenance and management,
    • Software selection, application, and testing,
    • Hardware/Software/ system evaluation and modification,
    • Development of Global Information Systems,
    • And others.
  3. Involve in basic information systems activities such as:
    • Hardware Maintenance, upgrade, and support;
    • Installation and configuration of computer systems;
    • Database development and maintenance;
    • Development, testing, de-bugging, and customization of application programs.
  4. Participate effectively in the work place by:
    • Handling IT related projects;
    • Exhibiting responsible and professional attitudes as a member of an information systems professional team;
    • Communicating clearly and concisely using oral, written, and contemporary electronic based techniques and media;
    • Exhibiting appropriate time and work planning skills;
    • Applying recognized security and safety practices and procedures.
