Privileges

Each person whose enrollment has been completed is considered a student of the University College, unless his or her connection with the university college is officially severed by withdrawal or for other reasons. The privileges of the university college are not available to any student until enrollment has been approved.

Academic Honesty

Academic honesty is fundamental to the integrity of the University’s community. A student who willingly gives or receives aid in examinations or plagiarizes papers or reports is subject to sever disciplinary procedures up to and including dismissal.

Students of the University are expected to fill examination requisition form and should avail themselves and do their exams. Failure to do that will lead to cover the cost expended as a consequence.

Exception to This Rule Pertains to:

Involuntary absence due to illness or family emergencies. This must be reported to the Dean of the School of Distance and Continuing Education who upon presentation of documentary proof of illness or emergency will notify the academic officer for excused absence.

Judicial Procedure

The Dean of the School of Distance and Continuing Education hears all cases of infringement on the standards of conduct and may impose any one or all of the following: -

  1. Completion of a minimum hours required for the in-school training, project work, apprenticeship, supportive course and common courses will be maintained as specified in the respective curriculum guide.
  2. Completion of all the courses.
  3. A member of the University College may be required to settle claims for damage or theft, the amount of which is determined by the Management.
  4. A recommendation to the Dean of the School of Distance and Continuing Education: that the member be placed on non-academic probation, the terms of which will be decided by the Dean, or that the member be dismissed from the Institute for non-academic reasons.

If the member wishes to appeal the decision made by the Management, he/she must submit a written petition within 20 instructional days to the chair person of the Appeal Committee, which is composed of Dean of the Dean of the School of Distance and Continuing Education, Head of the academic programme office and the registrar.

The Appeal Committee will uphold reverse or revise the decision of the management within 10 days following receipt of the appeal request and this decision in these matter is final.
