Admission

School of Distance and Continuing Education of Unity University College provides equal educational opportunities to all applicants without regard to sex, race, age, nation and nationality or physical handicap.

Admissions in both diploma and degree programs of the school of distance and continuing education of Unity University College are based on the requirements of the Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate and other equivalent certifying institutions.

In addition, the applicant’s written statements of purpose, work experience as well as viable recommendations are given consideration.

The School of Distance and Continuing Education operates on a rolling admission policy whereby qualified applicants are selected on a competitive basis. Therefore, admission requirements are printed in the information bulletins every year.

All acceptances to the University College are contingent on the successful completion of the work to progress. Accepted applicants are required to forwarded all documents to the School of Distance and Continuing Education.

On top of that, in the process of selection, the committee on admission evaluate each applicant’s academic potential, intellectual strength, and ability to think independently. That is, each applicant’s academic record is examined together with reports on personal qualities that have been supplied by the principal or head master, or head of the organization he/she is working with.

Application Requirements

Registration is a mechanical process that respects the right of every eligible student to enroll at a distance. It is accomplished when the following procedures are fulfilled.

  1. Complete application form. (One can get the application form along with the information bulletin for birr five.)
  2. Applicant who is legible for the diploma programme should fulfill the following:
    • Birr 50 non-refundable application fee.
    • A letter of recommendation (from the head of the department the applicant is working with,) The letter should be sealed in an envelope and sent with other documents.
    • High school transcript, official or testified.
  3. Secondary school (10th grade) leaving certificate exam result or equivalent (testified) with a minimum result of 2 points, or
  4. Ethiopian school leaving certificate examination results (testified by the head of organization he/she is working) with a minimum GPA of 2.
