I take this opportunity to welcome you to unity University College, a home away from home for 11,000 students from all over Ethiopia. We take pride in being able to offer quality education to our students and in our extension program which contributes to wards building the capacity of those already in the workplace. Our school of distance and continuing education reaches those in far away places transcending the boundaries of time and space to bring education to their doorsteps.

Education is an essential tool for the overall development of societies around our world and even more crucial in developing countries, like our own, as we continue to fight ignorance and backwardness, illiteracy and diseases that are threatening the very fabric of our communities. Every aspect of education has a part to play in the process of forging the tools for development and quality higher education raises societies level of productivity though the instrumentality of the crop of graduates we are able to produce.

It was with the desire to contribute towards the development of our societies that we embarked on the task of bringing education to the reaches of many in our society. We took the first steps, with great faith, when the government opened up opportunities for private entrepreneurs to invest in private educational institution. Time had also played a great role in paying the way to success but success always requires great stamina, hard work and a great deal of sacrifice on the part our academic and administrative staff.

In spite of the impediments encountered, we have remained steadfast in the commitment to offer our students quality education and support them in planning their lives ahead in the real world.

We believe unity university college has a crucial role to play in the expansion of educational opportunities in Ethiopia and in empowering the next generation with the tools to bring about a bright future for all.
